Peter Facinelli Describes EPIC Volturi Stand-off Scene

Time for the "Twilight" franchise is running out. Though the last two installments, "Breaking Dawn" parts 1 and 2, won't hit theaters until Nov. 2011 and Nov. 2012, filming wraps in Canada next month.

Zap2it spoke with star Peter Facinelli on the occasion his April 25 episode of "Nurse Jackie," and the actor explained what it's like to be one of the last ones standing on the "Twilight" set.

"I'm getting a little nostalgic," he says, "but it hasn't really hit yet. We've been in the thick of it for six months. I'm starting to feel it where you go to the workplace and a lot of people are gone. and I'm missing them already."

Facinelli, who's still got a week left primarily doing stunt work, says that filming the two pictures back-to-back was different, but the real departure for "Breaking Dawn" was working with the huge ensemble of actors.

"It was pretty epic at one point in Baton Rouge," he says of the final installment's climax. "We were doing he scene where the Volturi and the Cullen family are standing off. We had 100 people going through hair and makeup... It was kind of a circus."

Every member of the dueling vampire clans required attention from an army of stylists and designers -- which bodes well for some "Lord of the Rings"-esque visuals, but took quite a bit of time, too.

"I've never seen anything like it, he says, "to get a 100 people to shoot these scenes... and this, we shot it for two weeks straight. It was pretty intense, but it was a lot of fun."

Robert Pattinson Talks Life After “Twilight”

Now that he’s done with the final installment of the “Twilight Saga,” Robert Pattinson is looking ahead to what’s next.

He told press, "It does feel like a breakup. I do love the guy, it's been amazing to play the same character through so many adventures and I'm going to miss him. It's like the last day of high school."

"It's so strange because my life has changed so much over these years, but Twilight and Edward Cullen will always be a part of me. It's been my whole life. My whole 20s. And I wouldn't have it any other way."

Robert hinted that he’s though about the possibility of settling down at some point. "I'd love to have a family -- sometime in the future."

But for now he’s happy to keep his options open. "I'll be very glad not to put those contacts in anymore or have to put on the sparkling makeup."

Peter Facinelli Talks ‘Breaking Dawn’ & Vampire Sex

“The Twilight Saga’s” Bella and Edward get hot and steamy in “Breaking Dawn,” but Peter Facinelli said his Dr. Carlisle Cullen character wouldn’t be doing the same – not even with a little medicinal help.

“Just give us a small nugget for all the Twi-hards…something like, is there vampire sex?” Kit Hoover asked Peter when she stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Friday.

“Well, yeah, for sure,” Peter joked. “Not for Carlisle, he’s 350!”

“Viagra can’t even help him at that point!” Billy Bush added.

“Vampire Viagra,” Peter said with a laugh.

The actor, who also stars on Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie,” is excited for the plot developments in the upcoming “Breaking Dawn” movies, which will be released in two separate parts.

“We have baby vampires, lots of fun stuff going on in that movie,” he told Billy and Kit. “‘Eclipse’ was my favorite book, but I think ‘Breaking Dawn’ is my favorite script. I really like what they did with them. There’s a lot of fun surprises for the audience.”

Peter explained that the movie franchise’s hardcore fans also still surprise him.

“It gets weird sometimes, I was in the car with my 4-year-old and she had a little friend with her and she said, ‘You’re cute!’ and she’s four!” Peter explained. “And I’m like, ‘You’re a cutie too!’ What do you say to that?”

Later on Friday, Peter stopped “The Billy Bush Show” to continue his chat about the popular movie franchise – but is it something that his daughters wished he didn’t star in?

”[My oldest daughter, Luca,] is always proud of me… but I think she’d dig the series more if I wasn’t in it. It’s a weird thing to have your dad be the patriarch of that family… it takes away a little bit that I’m in it,” Peter told Billy.

The first installment of “Breaking Dawn” hits theaters on November 18, 2011, and the second part on November 16, 2012.

‘Breaking Dawn’ Updates: Set Photos and Mackenzie Foy as Renesmee

The publicity for “Twilight: Breaking Dawn” has released a bunch of updates on the movie: we have the title card, some set photos and the news that Mackenzie Foy has landed the role of Renesmee, Bella and Edward’s hybrid child.

Foy is a relative newcomer to Hollywood, although she has done a few TV shows. She is probably the most envied 10-year-old in the country right now, thanks to her new status with the famous Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart!
Summit Entertainment has also released the title card for the new movie…it looks much like the others only it uses a nice reddish-orange color, just like it should for Breaking Dawn.
And…a wonderful photo of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s honeymoon night has surfaced. Access Hollywood showed it first and I’m not sure if it’s an official photo release or just out there, but wow! What a photo! Only 301 days left until the release date!

Continuing work on “Breaking Dawn,” Dakota Fanning was spotted on the New Orleans set late last night (December 15).

The “I Am Sam” actress joked around with her castmates, including Michael Sheen, in between takes and kept warm with big parka jackets.

In related news, Dakota’s sister Elle told press that they both have a good time supporting each other on their own respective gigs.

"She's always been really supportive of me and really proud. She always comes and visit me on my sets, and I always go and visit her on hers."

Meet The New Faces In Breaking Dawn

After Summit Entertainment announced eight new supporting castmembers for "Breaking Dawn," fans reacted with a collective, "Um, who?"

Yes, folks like Olga Fonda and Masami Kosaka don't exactly have the name recognition of a Kristen Stewart or a Taylor Lautner, but each new castmember comes to the Twi-verse with previous acting credits and some online video. We gathered a handy guide for Twi-hards.

Olga Fonda
This Russian model and actress has quietly been building her Hollywood résumé in recent years, with brief appearances in shows like "How I Met Your Mother" and "Entourage." This past summer she was cast in Hugh Jackman's upcoming futuristic boxing drama, "Real Steel."

"Living in Los Angeles has given me an opportunity to pursue my dreams and has been able to open the doors to unlimited possibilities," Fonda told Maine's Kennebec Journal last year.

A 2007 YouTube video showcases Fonda at Los Angeles Fashion Week: her easy smile, her accented English and her sultry moves on the runway.

"So many girls trying to be models, like, 'Oh my god, I want to be a model!' Nobody really knows the reality of it," she said. "It's a lot of hard work, but at the same time it's a lot of fun."

Amadou Ly
Born in Senegal, Ly and his personal story became well-known in 2006 when a New York Times article reported how he had been abandoned by his mother and could not board a plane to Atlanta after his East Harlem robotics team won a spot in a national competition. The exposure attracted the attention of politicians and Hollywood, and he now has a foreign student visa. He's also building his acting résumé with theater work, a small role in "Law & Order" and several short films.

Masami Kosaka
Kosaka has already shared screen time with two "Twilight" stars, thanks to one scene in "The Runaways" in which he played a Japanese journalist interviewing Stewart and Dakota Fanning's characters. The actor has uploaded his reel to YouTube, showing off not only that "Runaways" scene, but his work in "FlashForward," "What About Brian" and a low-budget action flick called "The Legend of Samurai."

Wendell Pierce
Pierce has been part of the HBO family since 2002, first starring in "The Wire" and currently in "Treme," set in New Orleans where he also lives and which he never sees accurately portrayed in movies or TV.

"Hollywood hasn't been helpful with that; if I see another movie where everyone has Cajun accents and some guy in a jester hat is dancing behind a window, I'll go crazy," he told MTV News earlier this year. "People come here and ... then they're pleasantly surprised to see how Mardi Gras is a family affair. ... [It's] not just 'Girls Gone Wild.' It's also the biggest block party in the world, where people get to meet their neighbors and celebrate with their neighbors ... on an annual basis."

Sebastiao Lemos
The floppy-haired, goateed Brazilian native has appeared in the TV series "Força-Tarefa," which literally translates to "Task Force," and a 2008 Portuguese-language short film titled "Cara e Coroa," which can be found on YouTube.

According to a Brazilian "Twilight" fan site, in the short, Lemos plays a cop with ties to organized crime.

Janelle Froehlich
Froehlich appeared in the short-lived, syndicated, bilingual drama series "Hacienda Heights," which aired on a local Los Angeles TV channel. This summer she uploaded an audition video to YouTube for an unspecified project in which she appears to play a young journalist.

Ty Olsson
Olsson has been working steadily on the big and small screen for more than a decade, and as you might expect, his mug is all over YouTube: from interview segments on local news channels to spots on TV shows like "Men in Trees." He played a real-life 9/11 victim in "Flight 93" and was last seen on the big screen in "2012."

Kristen Stewart Talks About ‘Breaking Dawn’ And The Actress Who Will Play Her Daughter In The Film.

Earlier this week, MTV sat down with Twilight star Kristen Stewart to talk about her career, the overwhelming popularity of the Twilight franchise, and what fans can expect from the two-part Breaking Dawn.

Stewart has not always seemed comfortable talking about Twilight from her growing resume of related interviews. Given the fact that the movies made her a global celebrity and A-list Hollywood star overnight, it’s easy to see why. In this interview however, Stewart seems calm, collected, and down to earth. Maybe it’s because she knows that Breaking Dawn will be the last time she portrays Bella Swan.

Setting Stewart’s on-camera comfort aside, the MTV interview does reveal some interesting tidbits about Breaking Dawn, including the fact that Stewart has yet to meet the actress that will play her daughter. Check out both Breaking Dawn videos below.

Although they’ve made over a billion dollars collectively, the Twilight films have not always fared well among critics. With its promising behind the scenes talent however, Breaking Dawn may offer something more substantive for reviewers to enjoy. I certainly hope so, since the only reason I would go see the movie is for the dirty stuff, which they’ve taken out of the film anyway. (Just kidding Twilight fans. Please don’t send us nasty e-mails!)

In all seriousness, when the credits roll on Breaking Dawn Part Two, it will be the end of an era (unless of course they make a bunch of spin-off movies). To all the Twilight fans out there: How are you feeling as we approach the end of this film series?

Breaking Dawn Part 1 hits theaters on November 18th, 2011. Breaking Dawn Part 2 comes out a year later on November 16th, 2012.

Jackson Rathbone: Breaking Dawn Will Be Worth Waiting For

Jackson Rathbone has hinted The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be "amazing".

The 25-year-old, who plays vampire Jasper Hale in the vampire film series, can't wait to start filming the final two-part instalment, based on Stephenie Meyer's best-selling books.

"I didn't read the script, I just looked at it - it's amazing, it's under lock and key... What Melissa [Rosenberg, screenwriter] did with the book, it's inspiring," he said at the Scream Awards in Los Angeles.

Jackson revealed the eagerly anticipated love scene between Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) will not be skimmed over.

"It's a really hard transition to make, especially you know the content of Breaking Dawn, and what they were able to do with it is phenomenal. The fans are going to go crazy and we are going to show how Renesmee gets made - so it's going to be fun," he added.

But he joked he wants his own love scene with on-screen wife Alice, played by Ashley Greene.

"I tried, I said we need a Jasper and Alice love scene. I think it should just be a montage of all of us getting it on," he quipped.

"That's the one thing that I was upset about, we didn't get to see how they got together because I think it's a beautiful love story. It really is, it's inspiring."

The first part of Breaking Dawn will be released in November 2011, with the second part scheduled for November 2012.

Well guys, Do you believe Mr. Rathbone? :)

Casting For The Covens And Nomads Update

I got some news for you fellow Twilighters! And this news made me more excited to see the battle scene between the Covens, Nomads, Cullens versus the Volturi! Here it is:

Summit Entertainment just sent out a huge casting update on actors joining The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. We now have casting news regarding The Amazon Coven, The Egyptian Coven, The Irish Coven, The Romanian Coven, The American Nomads, and The European Nomads. Some of these names we’ve heard before like Lee Pace playing Garrett and Rami Malek playing Benjamin.

Newcomers to the franchise include Tracey Heggins, Judi Shekoni, Omar Metwally, Andrea Gabriel, Angela Sarafyan, Marlane Barnes, Lisa Howard, Patrick Brennan, Noel Fisher, Guri Weinberg, Toni Trucks, Bill Tangradi, Erik Odom, Valorie Curry, and Joe Anderson. Hit the jump for a full casting breakdown plus notes on each group. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn has been split into two parts. Part I opens November 18, 2011 while Part II is set for November 16, 2012.

(All descriptions are from a press release sent out by Summit Entertainment.)

THE AMAZON COVEN

-Tracey Heggins (Things Fall Apart) as Senna.
-Judi Shekoni (EastEnders) as Zafrina.

Among the oldest vampires in the world, Senna and Zafrina are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe. They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.

THE EGYPTIAN COVEN

-Omar Metwally (Rendition) as Amun.
-Andrea Gabriel (Lost) as Kebi.
-Rami Malek (The Pacific) as Benjamin.
-Angela Sarafyan (The Good Guys) as Tia.

The Egyptian Coven consists of Amun, Kebi, Benjamin, and Tia, with Amun as the leader. It is stated that even though they are not a biological family, they could pass for one. Amun is extremely protective of his family and fearful of Aro.

THE IRISH COVEN

-Marlane Barnes (The Tree of Life) as Maggie.
-Lisa Howard as Siobhan.
-Patrick Brennan as Liam.

The Irish Coven, a relatively young group, was founded by Siobhan and Liam, but Maggie’s talent made her an important element of it. They are not vegetarian but they are civilized.

THE ROMANIAN COVEN

-Noel Fisher (The Pacific) as Vladimir.
-Guri Weinberg (Munich) as Stefan.

The Romanian Coven is one of the oldest covens in the world and they were the ruling vampire family until they were unseated by the Volturi. For that reason they harbor a centuries old resentment of the Italian coven.

THE AMERICAN NOMADS

-Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies) as Garrett.
-Toni Trucks (Music and Lyrics) as Mary.
-Bill Tangradi (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles as Randall.
-Erik Odom (The Dead Ones) as Peter.
-Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars) as Charlotte.

Turned during the Revolutionary War, Garrett has chosen to live a nomadic existence, wandering the world on his own. Garrett has never lost the rebellious spirit of his human life, and loves a good fight, always rooting for the underdog. Though not a vegetarian, Garrett is among Carlisle’s closest and oldest friends.

Mary and Randall are American nomadic vampires.

Peter and Charlotte are nomadic vampires and mates. They were created during the aftermath of the Southern Vampire Wars, in which Jasper was a key player. They have remained friends with Jasper ever since.

THE EUROPEAN NOMADS

-Joe Anderson (The Crazies) as Alistair.

A nomadic vampire from England, Alistair has a misanthropic, brooding personality and a deep mistrust of all authority. Although he counts Carlisle as his closest acquaintance, he doesn’t visit more than once a century.

And, as previously reported:

THE DENALI COVEN

-Maggie Grace (Taken) as Irina Denali
-MyAnna Buring (The Descent) is Tanya, the leader of the clan who has a crush on Edward.
-Casey LaBow (Skateland) is Kate, who can produce an electric current that shocks anyone she touches.
-Christian Camargo (Dexter) is Eleazar, a Spaniard who has a knack for identifying the fits of others.
-Mia Maestro (Poseidon) is Carmen, the kind mate of Eleazar who appears to know many languages.

New Twilight Saga Book On April!

Gotcha! lol Nope, Stephenie Meyer won't release a new Twilight Saga book this April.

But "The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide" will hit stores on April 12. Written by Meyer, it will include “character profiles, outtakes, a conversation with Meyer, genealogical charts, maps, extensive cross-references, and much more,” according to the publishers.

Says Meyer of the tome:

“I’m always amazed at how many in-depth questions my readers have about my characters and the world within the Twilight Saga. With The Official Illustrated Guide, I hoped we could incorporate as many details as possible, including character histories, like Alice’s back story.”

'Breaking Dawn' Director Bill Condon Gives Production Update

We've been so distracted with the deluge of casting news (Hello, Denali coven!), that we nearly missed a special note "Breaking Dawn" director Bill Condon posted to "The Saga"'s Facebook page late Friday evening. In it, the helmer dishes details about pre-production and the band of behind-the-scenes folk who will make the movie as magical as the first three.

First things first, with shooting beginning in a matter of weeks (weeks!), how are things coming along? "We're in the thick of pre-production now, juggling everything from casting to storyboarding to location scouting, getting it all ready to go," Bill wrote after apologizing for the five-month span between updates.

Perhaps more important than the pre-production news, is the veritable who's who that's been tapped to join the finale's crew. As much as we love to gawk at Jacob's abs or stare into Edward's lovely forlorn face, we have the crew to thank for truly making "The Twilight Saga" what it is on the big screen.

The addition that jumps out the most is that of John Bruno in special effects. John has flexed his FXs muscles in many a visually-stunning and technically proficient film, from "Ghost Busters " to "Titanic" to "Avatar." "He and his team are working intensely to develop solutions to the host of special effects challenges that Stephenie created for us in 'Breaking Dawn,' including that remarkable kid," Bill wrote. If John can make 10 ft. tall blue aliens happen, we have high hopes for the otherworldy Renesmee.

Another crew member who seems custom-cast to handle the intricacies of a rapidly growing, half-vampire-half-human kiddo is makeup designer Jean Black, who worked on the aging-in-reverse epic "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

Oscar-winning cinematographer Guillermo Navarro, costume designer Michael Wilkinson ("Just wait 'til you see his take on the vampire witnesses who come to Forks from around the globe," Bill teased) and production designer and "lifetime vampire aficionado" Richard Sherman round out the crew announcement.

It looks like our beloved "Breaking Dawn" will be in good hands.
